Bare Bones

I’ve been now deteriorated and exhausted.

This is not how it should be.

Father has faith in me.

  • "So, what is Jesy studying?"
  • Dad:
"She is studying Literature in UC Santa Cruz."
  • "Oh, so she wants to be a writer?"
  • Dad:
"No. She's always been a writer, but she is now studying Literature."

Oh I’m sorry, are we at the denim jacket convention? (Taken with instagram)

Not Jess, not Jessica… It’s JESY ODIO.

Why I’m Doing What I’m Doing.

To be honest, I have no idea how I ended up where I am today.

When it comes to my Literature major, I’ve had this planned out since I was little. I always had a passion for writing and reading. I needed to have a pen in hand at all times, and to this day, I still find myself carrying a Moleskine around in case of spontaneous urges of inspiration. I am heading exactly where I want to be, and where I see myself in a couple of years.

Nevertheless, lately I’ve come across a different interest of mine. While I’m certain I’m a fan of Literary Studies, I’ve been engaging in a different kind of activity. And that is how I ended up minoring in Film and Digital Media, and involving myself with KZSC. Because every time I feel the energy of a filming set, or enter the studio at the radio station, my stomach fills up with a different kind of ecstasy and enthusiasm.

And almost every second I’m in these kind of situations, I stop myself and think, “What would Daddy think, or say, or do about this?”

How fitting to have this published exactly a month after I got my nose pierced. And to have a friend follow my very exact footsteps.
